Our recommended system

TAMKO® HailGuard™ shingles

On most replacements, Robert specifies TAMKO HailGuard. It's a shingle chosen for how it holds up in a North Texas storm as much as for how it looks on the house.

HailGuard shingles are UL 2218 Class 4 impact rated and built with TAMKO's ImpactCore™ technology. TAMKO describes them as the first and only asphalt shingle system backed by a hail warranty. They come in eight colors (Black Walnut, Olde English Pewter, Oxford Grey, Rustic Black, Rustic Cedar, Rustic Slate, Thunderstorm Grey and Weathered Wood), so impact protection doesn't mean giving up the look you want.

Southlake Roof Works is a TAMKO Pro Gold certified contractor in The TAMKO Edge® program. That lets us register enhanced TAMKO limited system warranties on qualifying installations.

The hail warranty, plainly

What it covers

  • Leaks caused by hailstones penetrating the shingles, for hailstones 3 inches or less in diameter as verified by the National Weather Service or other hail data
  • The shingles must be installed to TAMKO's application instructions with all required TAMKO system products, including Synthetic Guard™ and Moisture Guard® underlayments, and must have sealed down
  • The standard HailGuard Extended Limited System Warranty term is 7 years. Enhanced warranties registered by TAMKO Pro Certified Contractors can extend hail coverage up to 20 years, depending on contractor level and components installed
  • Hail claims must be reported to TAMKO within 90 days of the storm

Hail larger than 3 inches and damage from foreign objects are excluded. A manufacturer's warranty does not replace your homeowner's insurance; some insurers may offer premium discounts for impact-rated roofs, but discounts aren't guaranteed. We'll review the full TAMKO warranty and the coverage level that applies to your home with your proposal.

Questions

Roof Replacement

Do you help with HOA approvals?

Yes. We can prepare material and color submittals for your HOA or architectural committee and plan around their requirements.

How do you protect landscaping and hardscape?

We plan the site before we start: tarps and protection for beds, pools and hardscape, careful material staging and daily cleanup.

What if insurance is involved?

If there is covered storm damage, we can document what we find and coordinate with your adjuster. Your insurer makes coverage decisions.

How long does a replacement take?

Most homes are completed in a few working days once materials arrive, weather permitting. We'll give you a schedule with your proposal.
